Microsoft Word, MacWrite,  - when pasting a MacPaint picture into Write or Word, you can shrink, stretch or center the image by placing the cursor over one of the three squares that appear at the bottom of the highlighted graphic.  Hold the mouse button down and drag.  If you don't like the way your image looks, select the UNDO command immediately.  Re-paste the image and try again.
